Date: November 16, 2010 Time: 9:00AM-3:00PM (registration begins at 8:30AM) Site: NWIESC, 2939 41st Street, Highland, IN 46322 (Enter through door “H”) Fees: $175 – NWIESC Members; $250 – Non-NWIESC Members (fee includes book & lunch) Deadline: November 1, 2010 (Register early as seating is limited) Credit: 3 CRUs or 6 PGPs will be issued About the Program: Grant Writing 101: Nuts and Bolts of Successful Grants will teach the fundamentals of grantsmanship to help participants write and manage successful grants. The class will encompass a five-step program including the following components: 1. Identifying needs and projects; 2. Identifying foundation grant makers; 3. Writing successful grant proposals; 4. Cultivating grant makers; and 5. Accountability. The presenter will invite questions throughout the presentation and participants will engage in an exercise to identify the best foundation prospects for an identified project. All participants will receive a copy of the author’s book titled, “Let’s Write a Grant,” a $50 value and take-home guide for writing future proposals. Upon completion of the class, participants will be able to (1) identify the five-step grantsmanship process, (2) research prospects to identify the best funding sources for their schools and projects; and (3) write a foundation grant proposal utilizing a standard format. About the Presenter: Glenda O’Neal, M.A., located in Cincinnati, OH, is a consultant specializing in grant writing and the management of grant programs. She works with clients in the fields of education, social services, health care, government, and other public and private institutions and companies throughout the United States. Glenda assists organizations with their grant seeking efforts to foundations and government agencies. She is recognized especially for a 100% success rate planning and writing federal grants. Her consultation has resulted in applications ranking first in the nation and tallying perfect scores.
