| Intervening with Aggressive Behaviors: What to do when Nothing Else Works! |

| There is widespread concern over the increasing frequency of aggression being exhibited by students. The number of students in American schools with aggressive behavior is one of the leading concerns of teachers, administrators, and parents and a favorite subject of the national media. This workshop will focus on providing participants with knowledge of effective intervention strategies to implement in their program. Specifically, the following activities will be emphasized: (1)-identifying factors that facilitate anger and aggression in students. (2) Identifying specific classroom strategies for prevention and intervention of anger and aggression. (3) Presenting the components of a unique model of intervention for dealing with aggression. The Presenter, William DeMeo, is a Developmental School Psychologist who coordinates the mental health services for Cincinnati Public Schools’ Early Childhood Program. In addition, he also has a private practice that specializes in serving children and families that other agencies are not able to serve in the Greater Cincinnati Area. William, a former teacher, has taught at all levels, from elementary through the university. Location: NWIESC
